In this episode, we look into Hagi-yaki (萩焼), tea wares from the city of Hagi, Japan. Deemed the second most important ceramics when it comes to Japanese tea, Hagi-yaki is ripe with a violent history of Korean prisoners of war, captured from a Japanese invasion, and made to appease the ruling class.
